Juniors

The junior section of our Club begins at 9th Grade and runs through to 17th Grade Girls.

Each Grade has a number of teams representing the Club through US1's Divisional Competition. From Grade 13 the Club has junior teams playing in the Auckland-wide Metro (boys) and Combined League (girls) Competitions. Home games are played at Becroft Park, Sunnynook Park and Wairau Intermediate School.

Players are invited to trial in Pre-Season and players are selected to teams on merit, based on technical and athletic criteria.

The top two teams at Grade 9 and 10, and the top team at Grade 11 through to Girls Grade 17 are coached twice weekly and additionally on match days by our Professional Coaches. Players are asked to contribute towards the cost of the professional coaching.

The Club's Director of Coaching facilitates this framework and together with coaches possessing UEFA “B” Coaching License, New Zealand National Academy Coaching License or International equivalent credentials, delivers these sessions, providing a fantastic opportunity at grassroots level for our players to develop technical skills and game understanding. 

Other teams in each Grade coached by Parent/Volunteer Coaches also have access to our professional coaching.

All our junior grade team goalkeepers have the opportunity to receive weekly professional goalkeeper coaching.

The Club's philosophy in our junior grades is to provide professional coaching to assist our players develop their game, and to give the most promising players the best opportunity of receiving US1 Federation representation, and beyond this, NZ National Academy representation.

In 2007 the Club had three Girls teams at Grade 12, 15 and 17. It is part of our progressive policy to further promote Girls football by increasing the number of Girls teams in 2008 to Grade 10, 13 15/17 and our 2007 girls will now compete in the Ladies 1st Division.
