MidgetsThe "midgets" section of our club gives many children their first introduction to soccer. Players can join the club from five years old, and they remain part of "midgets" until they are nine. Players train once a week at Forrest Hill's unique “Skill School" with other players from the same midget grade. These sessions are taken by professional coaches and provide a fantastic introduction to the skills needed to enjoy Saturday games. Click here for more information on the FHM Skill School. All players are part of a squad of 10-12 which plays together every Saturday morning through the season. The teams play in 3 "grades" dependent on age, being 5/6th, 7th and 8th (for example, if a player turns eight in the year they play in 8th grade). The Club arranges a midget grade schedule for all midget teams of Forrest Hill Milford, Takapuna and Greenhithe. Each squad has a parent manager, who helps guide and encourage the players during their games. This arrangement, along with Skill School, gives all players a superb mix of coaching with an introduction to playing in a team environment. Games for 5/6th and 7th grades start at 8.30am and for 8th grade at 9.10am. Home games are played at Becroft Park and away games may be played at Taharoto Park against Takapuna or at Wainoni Park against Greenhithe.
