Background
For over 30 years, Forrest Hill/Milford AFC (FHM) has been operating from our headquarters at Becroft Park on the corner of the Northern Motorway and Tristram Avenue.  During that time we have grown from strength to strength.

Over the years the club has been at the forefront of a number of key initiatives, primarily focused on the growth of the sport at the midget and junior levels.  In 2006 we implemented one of the most innovative and ambitious programmes offered by any club in the region whereby we have retained the services of a Director of Coaching and up to ten qualified professional coaches who are actively involved on a day-to-day basis in improving the skills of all our junior players. We also have several initiatives running for our senior players.

Each of our Boys and Girls Youth Grade top teams now compete in the Auckland wide Metropolitan Competitions and our Junior Grade teams are now challenging larger neighbouring Clubs in Federation competitions. We also provide weekly skills programmes for midgets, run by the professional coaches for any member that wishes to participate.

At Forrest Hill AFC, all our members are important and we look to provide each and every one of them with an opportunity to improve their skills.  In support of our activities we have commissioned the design of and implemented a new Club website and database management system in 2007.

 

Growth
Our goal is to continue building the club both in terms of numbers and skill by creating excellent players today who will become the role models for future generations of midgets and juniors.  The success of our strategy can be seen in the increase in junior numbers over the last three years.  Our average annual growth rate for juniors is 12%.  When this is compared to other clubs on the North Shore, we are at the top of the list.  Our Director of Coaching is committed to the club and other Football clubs are trying to emulate our model in order to invigorate their junior numbers. 
For the 2008 season the club has 600 junior members and 150 senior members.

 

Sponsorship
Making the decision to invest significantly in a coaching programme for our young players to develop skills, build confidence and provide players with future opportunities was a courageous decision by the FHM Executive team. It has certainly extended our reach and we firmly believe it will result in success.

We are now extending that reach out into the business community. In particular the business community that services the same demographic area that FHM services to encourage sports participation and build individual and team talent.

 

Opportunity
Our location, high number of younger players and coaching programme will ensure that we remain a strong club – an organisation that will retain club members for a number of years and an opportunity for local, national and international companies to show their presence in an ideal forum.

Our clubrooms are located at one of the busiest intersections in the country.  2006 Transit New Zealand data shows that the Annual Average Daily Traffic volume exceeded 80,000 vehicles on a daily basis  with weekly traffic volume being higher than the average and all vehicles virtually crawling past the intersection in the morning and evening.  The cost of a billboard in an area with this traffic volume averages over $90,000 per annum in the Auckland area

The club currently offers three levels of sponsorship; Platinum, Gold and Silver.  Features of each level are explained below:

1    Silver Sponsorship - $2,000 per year
      a.  Company name and logo displayed on our

           web-site together with a link to your website.
      b.  Inclusion of your logo on all communications

           with members
      c.  Minimum 1 year commitment
      d.  This opportunity is open to a maximum of

           15 sponsors

2    Gold Sponsorship - $3,500 per year
      a.  In addition to Silver Sponsorship benefits.
      b.  Prominent advertisement on the inside of

           the clubhouse around the TV (up to 500

           mm˛)
      c.  Provide pamphlets for members at the

           sponsors table
      d.  Opportunities to sponsor teams (gear with

           your logo)
      e.  Acknowledgement of your support at all

           club events
      f.   Minimum 2 year commitment
      g.  This opportunity is open to a maximum of

           7 sponsors

3    Platinum Sponsorship - $5,000 + per year
      a.  In addition to Gold Sponsorship benefits
      b.  Advertising around the bar area inside the

           club
      c.  Advertising on the outside of the

           clubhouse (within local council and transit

           New Zealand guidelines) to a size not to

           exceed one section of the clubhouse

           balcony railing.
      d.  Ability to have “temporary” sponsorship/

           promotional advertising on the grounds

           when there is activity at Becroft
      e.  Top line appearance on our website
      f.   Up to 5 year commitment.
      g.  The club will establish a sponsorship

           committee and Platinum Sponsors will be

           offered an opportunity to place a non-

           voting representative on that committee
      h.  Opportunities as agreed on a mutual basis

           to sponsor teams or individuals within the

           club
      i.   Right of first refusal to participate in club

           events (tournaments and prize giving) to

           sponsor trophies
      j.   Opportunity to participate at annual prize

           giving and any other formal event to hand

           out prizes, provide a short presentation,

           have sponsorship advertising present (a

           number of events will not be held at FHM

           clubrooms)
      k.  The club will make its database available for

           promotion of other charitable or community

           based events that the sponsor is actively

           involved with.
      l.   This opportunity is open to two sponsors

Please note that within any agreement the sponsor and the club would retain the right to cancel the agreement without penalty within 90 days of each anniversary.

The FHM Executive will commit to advising each sponsor of any proposed changes to this plan within 30 days of such a change being formally discussed at an executive meeting.
