Coach Bios

Luca Vasori

Luca is the Club's Football Development Manager across all grades up to and including our U17's. He has been coaching at the Club for 12 years now. In this time he has completed a number of coaching qualifications including all the Junior NFF courses, the FA (English Football Association) youth development awards and is currently finishing his Oceania B licence.

Previously in his home country Italy, Luca played in semi-professional clubs and had a spell at Inter Milan academy before starting coaching at grass-root level.

Luca has been working as a pro-coach for junior/youth development teams mainly Metro groups and FTC groups. For the past 2 season Luca has moved into a more managerial position at the Club in the role of Junior Development Manager which has developed into Football Development Manager (Boys).

Under Luca’s guidance the Club has continuously increased membership steadily making the Club the second biggest club in the NFF federation. A lot more players have been developed to Federation standards since Luca took over the supervision of the junior and youth development programmes 4 years ago. This has resulted in the Club having the largest representation of players as part of NFF and NTC academies within the NFF clubs.

Ben Bate

Whilst a recent arrival New Zealand’s shores Ben has been a part of the U20 men’s team as a technical analyst at last year’s FIFA U20 World Cup and is currently the technical analyst for the women’s U17 girl’s squad. Prior to arriving in New Zealand he was a technical analyst for the Football Association of Wales’ Women’s teams for 5 years. He began with the U15 development squad before working his way up through the U17, U19 and Senior women’s teams.

As well as this he was also the technical analyst for The New Saints Football Club for 6 years winning several Welsh Premier League, Welsh Cup and Welsh League Cup medals during his time at the club. He also competed in 4 Champions League and a Europa League qualifying campaign. He has coached since he was 16 at grassroots through to academy level at a number of clubs with both male and female players. He also possess a Sports Coaching degree and a Masters degree in Sport and Exercise Science.

Clive Campbell

Clive brings a rich playing and coaching heritage having played for Blockhouse Bay in their 1970 league-cup double, switched to Mt Wellington in the mid-70s, became the first player to notch 200 national league appearances and was in the 1979 Mount team and the side that won the league-cup double the following year. He also made 17 A-International appearances for New Zealand between 1977 and 1981, scoring 5 times including 2 on his début against New Caledonia. He was part of the squad that qualified for the 1982 FIFA World Cup in Spain but was not included in the 23 man squad at the finals. He has vast coaching experience at both a junior and senior level most recently at Mt Wellington, North Shore and Takapuna and is hugely respected in footballing circles. 

Sam Jasper

Sam was involved last season as a player and this year will be his first major coaching role. He brings a strong playing pedigree having represented New Zealand at U15, U16, U17 and U20 levels. He played in the A League with the NZ Knights and has played for a number of NZ Football Championship sides as well as a number of Auckland NRFL Clubs.

Sam will be coaching our Men's 1st Team alongside Clive Campbell. Clive are well known to each other with Clive having coached Sam previously at North Shore and when Sam was in the New Zealand U20 side.

Nathan Cranney

Nathan is Assistant Coach for  Men's 1st team. He believes that an excellent attitude dedication and the mentality to improve is the key to becoming a better footballer.

Nathan has been coaching at the club for 6 years now despite only being 22. In this time he has completed a number of coaching qualifications including Junior level 1 and 2 , youth level 1 and 2 and senior level 1 and is currently working toward further qualifications.

Nathan is also one of our key Academy coaches and outside of the Club he is the Northcross Intermediate school coach. He is currently studying sport and recreation and business and working towards being a certified personal trainer.

Nathan has been a Forrest Hill player since 13th grade and is now looking forward to an amazing season at the club. 

Liam Quann

Originally from Whangarei, Liam began playing football at age 5, representing his province at all age groups through to Senior level then subsequently playing for clubs in Wellington, Auckland and the UK.

He is passionate about football with a firm belief that learning is a lifetime activity, always looking for opportunities to develop himself as a coach as well as his players.

Liam has been coaching football at Forrest Hill Milford since 2010, working with female players at Junior through to Senior levels. In this time, he has successfully completed all relevant NZF Junior & Youth coaching qualifications and is currently completing his Senior Level 2.

Liam has taken four teams to the Junior Nationals, winning the National Championship in 2015 after a second and third place in the prior years. In 2017, he led the U17 youth women’s team, along with Ben Bate, to first place in the Auckland City U17 Youth Nationals Championship, winning the club's first trophy at the annual National tournament.

Stuart Dove

Stuart has been involved in football for over 10 years. His playing career started with a local club, then progressing as a keen 14 year old to play for his hometown club Leeds United. In his early 20's he went on to play at a good level and was lucky enough to play and score in the FA Cup.
His Coaching Career started after achieving his FA Level 1 and gaining experience at a Junior level. Through being involved with football locally he had the chance to work as a Junior scout for the Leeds United Academy. This helped him to gain knowledge of players technique, ability and more importantly potential. After this vital experience he worked towards his FA Level 2 Qualification and furthered his learning of the game with work experience at the Manchester City Academy, which lead to his position as a Scout/Coach at a City Development Centre working with promising young players.

Since moving to Auckland he has been coaching for the Northern Football Federation and Forest Hill Milford United, hoping to develop the players he works with and his understanding of the game. Stuart is continuing his football education by attending a New Zealand Football Junior Coaching Course level 3 course.

Emily Coe

Emily joined the Club in 2004 and has played every year since. She is currently Captain of our very strong Women’s U17 team, known as the FHM Foxes.

Emily started her coaching in 2014 as Assistant Coach for our U9 girls’ team. Last year she was the Coach for our U10 girls and this year is Coach for our U9 girls.

Emily’s ambition to go as far as she can with her coaching has seen her dedicate herself to obtaining her coaching qualifications. She currently holds a Junior Level 1 Coaching Certificate and is half way through the Junior Level 2 Coaching Certificate.

Emily will be attending a course in September to attain the Junior Level 3 Certification qualification.

Outside of the Club, Emily is in Year 13 at Rangitoto College where she acts as a Year 9 Peer Support and International Peer Support. She also works for Kelly Sports as a coach and also Kelly Club as a staff member in their school holiday programmes.

Aiden Widdows

Aiden has been coaching the Forrest Hill 9th Grade A2 team. His previous coaching experience has been with the 12th Grade 1st Division Team at Norwest and the 9th and 10th FTC groups at Waitakere.

He has also assisted with the Holiday Programmes at Norwest and Western Springs.

Aiden has attained the Junior Level 2 Coaching Qualification (All 4 Modules) and has also sat the Level 1 Junior Coaching course.

Aiden was schooled at Rosmini College and is now studying at Auckland University.

Matt Wood

Matt plays in the Forrest Hill Reserves and First Team. He is also in the NZ U17 Training Squad. Matt will also play for either Auckland City or Waitakere United youth squads. Previously he played for Westlake Boys High School 1st Xl and has played for NFF at National Age Group Tournament.

Matt has been coaching the Forrest Hill 9th Grade B2 France team as well as helping with the First Kicks Skill Centre programme. The feedback on Matt’s coaching so far has been outstanding and he displays coaching maturity beyond his years.

Giuseppe (Joseph) Martegani ​

Giuseppe (Joseph) Martegani has been involved with Football for the past 45 years as a player and Coach working at the Junior and Youth level.

Giuseppe obtained an Italian Football coaching license F.I.G.C and specialized on junior player development with C.S.I Milan working as a youth coach in Italy for several years.

Giuseppe specialises on technique and skills player development through various methods, adopted during his playing career and while attending coaching courses around the world.

In New Zealand he holds Junior Level 1 and 2, Youth Level 1 and 2 coaching certifications and the Coaching New Zealand National Certificate NZQA.

Giuseppe played in semi-professional clubs in Italy, Switzerland and Australia.

After moving to New Zealand Giuseppe played for Central United, Onehunga Sport and Mt Albert-Ponsonby, Premier League Clubs.

He has worked with Billy Harris, ex-All White, Soccer skills Academy, and Wynton Rufer Soccer School of Excellency and as a Football Coordinator at Sport Auckland with the Kiwi Sport, Hillary Commission programme.

During the last few years Giuseppe has been involved with the Barcelona Youth Academy Coaching course and Training and worked at Auckland City Player Development Centre and coached Central United's Under12 and 17 grades.

Giuseppe has worked with Football programmes and clinics in Italy, Switzerland, Australia, Indonesia, Malasya, Thailand, India, Myanmar and New Zealand.

Zoran Ivanovic

Zoran has been involved with football all his life. He comes from Serbia where he played different levels and leagues semi-professionally and started his football at Red Star Academy in Belgrade.  He studied at the Faculty of Sports Science at the Belgrade Institute for Football Coaches.

After moving to New Zealand in 19 years ago, he played for Central United for 1 year, Takapuna AFC for 8 years , North Shore United over 30’s , Forrest Hill Milford over 35’s and Forrest Hill Milford AFC over 45’s.

Zoran has been involved with junior and youth development programmes at Forrest Hill Milford for 5 years where he has worked across different age groups.

He is very passionate about the game and his back ground as a youth footballer in Serbia helps him bring a very technical approach to coaching junior players making sure they develop proficiently .

Zoran takes his coaching role seriously and always helps around the Club to coach and mentor a large number of players every year and the benefits of his constant support to young players is shown by the quality of football played by his teams.

Zoran is currently finishing his Oceania B Licence (UEFA B) together with his Level 3 Youth Coaching Course .
